Our Tax Manager supports the VP, Tax and Treasurer on corporate income tax matters including the preparation of income tax provisions (ASC 740); working with our tax outsourcing partner to complete federal and state tax returns; and researching tax issues relevant to the Company.  

1. Prepare and document quarterly and year-end income tax provisions pursuant to ASC 740.
2. Provide underlying calculations to our tax outsourcing partner for the preparation of federal, state and local income and franchise tax returns, and extensions.
3. Review federal and state and local income and franchise tax returns prepared by our tax outsourcing partner.
4. Calculate estimated tax payments and prepare periodic cash tax forecasts based on future pretax income estimates.
5. Assist with federal and state tax audits by drafting responses to audit inquiries and gathering requested information.
6. Research federal and state income tax issues and current legislation that could impact the Company.
7. Assist VP, Tax and Treasurer with the development and implementation of tax planning strategies, including planning and implementing mergers and acquisitions
8. Lead automation efforts to improve efficiency and increase accuracy in tax processes.
9. Prepare responses for federal, state and local tax notices.
10. Manage the indirect tax process.
11. Coordinate with Legal department on legal entity maintenance and history.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Master of Taxation is a plus.
• CPA preferred.
• 5+ years’ combined experience with a national accounting firm and/or corporate finance or tax department, preferred.
• Experience with ASC 740
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax reporting, as well as the ability to implement and comply with new state and federal requirements
• Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Experience with Oracle Financial Systems preferred

Note: We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a hybrid setting --- from home and also in our Franklin Tennessee office.

The salary range for this opportunity is $88,700 to $124,200. Compensation depends on several factors: qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
