  • Description/Responsibilities

    The Vice President of Data Strategy and Business Insights is a senior-level information and analytics’ role with broad and deep experience responsible for creating, developing and growing “Insights First” capabilities, organization and culture. As a Core member of our Senior Leadership Team you are responsible for developing a disciplined approach to enabling actionable information and analytics activities and enabling capabilities to help drive and support Tivity Health’s business capabilities and marketplace strategies.

     

    The ability to make rapid, high-quality decisions based on timely, relevant and accurate information is critical. Tivity needs to not Run Analytics Different, it needs to Run Analytics Better.

     

    The VP of Data Strategy and Business Insights will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role the VP of Data Strategy and Business Insights will work closely with other senior leaders including those from the Product, Finance, Marketing and Technology Teams to execute market penetration strategies for specific strategic initiatives.

     

    The VP of Data Strategy and Business Insights will craft the strategy and vision for Tivity Health’s approach to transformative data and insights opportunities. S/he will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing an integrated data strategy for internal as well as external data sources. S/he will ensure that a data-driven and insights to actions culture is embedded within the fabric of the Company’s strategy.

     

    • Strategic Leadership and Business Partnership: Collaborate with Executive and Senior leadership, Product, Domain owners and Data Scientists to uncover data gaps and identify, refine and size potential growth opportunities with a view to enabling unencumbered access to data for various Business and IT stakeholders. Define the vision and strategy for the Member Products and Services that deliver transformational value to our Clients and Members. Take a disciplined and analytical approach toward measuring product and services success by clearly defining Member and Business focused metrics and establishing the required infrastructure to measure ongoing progress. Should be able to display 360-degree leadership, leading by example and inspire existing team as well as be able to identify or hire critical talent needed to bring the overall data strategy and business insights vision forward with the Analytics context.
    • Execution and Delivery: Develop and continuously refine Information and Analytics roadmaps to support Financial, Product, Operational and Member KPIs and actionable insights based on a comprehensive understanding of changing consumer and marketplace needs, industry dynamics, and business objectives for use in pervasive BI. Identify and analyze internal and external data sources – people data, Member data, partner data, contextual and social data – and direct and guide your team to implement the most effective method for ingestion, harmonization and organization of data streams in Tivity Health’s BI and Analytics.
    • Lead and Mentor: As a VP, lead a team of Business Analytics, Data Science and BI professionals and use your influence to drive optimal solutions aligned to the vision and data strategy in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Ideate new product constructs, build business cases, and champion the most promising ideas to gain executive buy-in.

    Running Different, Running Better

    Run Different – Make fact-based decision-making pervasive, using BI, analytics, and data science to provide the Leadership Team with insights and results that are meaningful, accurate, accessible and actionable for measurement, monitoring, and forecasting, focused on the day-to-day executive decision-making processes.

    Run Better – Identify and drive the development and usage of KPIs used to “Run the Business” based on identified gaps and transformation recommendations for organization, tools, analytical and AI enabling capabilities in alignment with Tivity Health Executive Leadership and Senior Leadership teams.

    Key Accountabilities

    Design, develop, execute and support the creation of an Insights Team to fully engage the Tivity Health’s Business Transformation journey and significant requirements for deeper and more pervasive insights. The new Insights organization is focused on help drive market growth strategies in collaboration with Product, Marketing, Research and Engineering Teams. The Insights organization will be focused on:

    Data Strategy:

    • Owns the creation and delivery for the formulation of an overall Information Strategy Roadmap, through the partnering with Business and IT groups, to facilitate Tivity Health’s ability to pursue data-driven decision-making, advanced analytics and KPIs and Metrics in BI Dashboards to measure the internal and external effectiveness of those decisions, and advanced analytics to adjust directional strategy and operational processes tied to the organization’s overall goal and objectives.

    Insights to Actions:

    • Unlocking new insights and intelligence through the power of information and analytics across the Enterprise to tackle large and small questions and knowledge are made based on analytical insights, distributed and visualized to enable greatly improved decision-making.
    • Ensure the quality of the Analytics teams work continues to be truly distinctive through Innovative Intellectual Capital Development with a focus on high business impact and value with tangible results.

    Data and Insights Governance:

    • Be the principle enterprise information and insights advisor to key initiatives and oversight on core and new initiatives and programs
    • Institute the culture, capabilities and processes for treating information as an asset through Governance
    • Design and incorporate the framework, execution and delivery of data and analytics excellence through intelligence, transparency, agile and trust
    • Deliver outstanding stakeholder results through the oversight of data, analytics and BI teams to implement expanded and new actionable insights enabling capabilities
    • Draw conclusions from the data, analytics, research, market and industry trends, to support, enable, measure and monitor go-to-market initiatives for Tivity Health
    • Provide and communicate a keen awareness of the emerging industry and technology trends and disrupters to help build and pivot accordingly
    • Deliver on your proven track-record of defining and delivering disciplined large-scale, multi-year business transformation roadmaps

     

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Information Technology, Statistics or Business
    • Minimum 10 years of C-level interactions and facing experience within the Retail, Health Care and Digital B2B and B2C insights for product and insights
    • Ability to help transform vision to strategy to execution to delivery of pervasive and actionable insights across a large and diverse population of stakeholders
    • Excellent C-level presentation skills
    • Integrate various data streams with advanced analytics to provide actionable recommendations and a compelling story to senior level clients using Data Journalism and Analytical Storytelling
    • Ability to work across teams in a complex highly matrixed organization
    • Ability to identify strategic business development opportunities and mobilize the appropriate resources to exploit them effectively
    • Should have some level of experience in Organization Change Management to drive ensure the success of the Data Strategy and BI and Analytics initiatives
    • Ability to identify and select the optimal data elements for new and existing business goals, needs and objectives
    • Ability to translate data and analysis into actionable insights
    • Strong understanding of transactional data and its utility for marketers
    • Strong understanding of compiled demographic, lifestyle and financial data
    • Strong understanding of marketing analytics
    • Experience and/or understanding of various business models
