  • Description/Responsibilities

    Responsible for leading, developing, and executing public relations activities in support of SilverSneakers®, America’s leading community fitness program designed for older adults. SilverSneakers® promotes vital physical and social activity through 14,000 facilities nationwide. Additionally, this position will serve as a liaison with Tivity Health’s corporate responsibility team, corporate P/R team, client relations and internal communications.

    1. Manage media relations activities and prepare strategic external communications and media plans.
    2. Create successful B2B and B2C public relations campaigns.
    3. Collaborate with the consumer marketing team to identify opportunities to support digital communications and marketing campaigns with public relations strategies.
    4. Plan, prepare and relay information concerning the organization to the press and the wider community to gain understanding and acceptance for the organization.
    5. Strategically cultivate and maintain positive relationships with media representatives, news outlets, bloggers and other external audience groups and work to promote news coverage and stories in all mediums (TV, print, radio, online).
    6. Working in partnership with the Senior Director, Public Relations, develop and implement strategic annual product PR plan focused on key audiences.
    7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including consumer marketing, B2B marketing, operations and the leadership team to identify public relations opportunities and needed support.
    8. Co-manage agency relationship to define strategies and scope of work, and provide guidance to ensure effective execution and delivery.
    9. In partnership with corporate P/R leadership, write, edit and distribute local and national product and program press releases.
    10. Identify and train media spokespeople and brand ambassadors within the organization and externally.

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related discipline.
    - Minimum of 5+ years P/R Agency experience, Corporate Communications, Public and/or Media Relations fields
    - Highly effective strategic communicator with proven ability to articulate business vision and strategy in compelling messages resulting in measurable business results
    - Demonstrated success creating, developing and producing strategic and tactical internal and external communications products
    - Demonstrated success in the use of print and electronic public relations mediums
    - Proficiency in public relations analysis and measurement 
    - Project management experience and proficiency leading cross-functional teams
    - Knowledge of wellness, fitness and health care industries a plus
    - Consumer marketing and public relations experience preferred
    - Proficient using Microsoft products and MS Outlook
    - Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work to accomplish work objectives in a fast-paced environment
    - Ability to learn new skills, adapt work habits, and remain flexible through company growth and change.
